Nga Toi Hawke’s Bay Welcomes New Board Member
Our newest Board member Tamara Rickett joined us in January 2019 and we are very lucky to have her as part of the team! Here's where you can find out a bit more about Tamara. We will be profiling each of our Board members throughout the year so watch this space....
"Having lived in Wainuiomata and Tāmaki Makaurau Auckland, I am proud to have recently made Hawke’s Bay my hometown. As a musician and communications marketing professional, I’ve worked both onstage and behind the scenes for over a decade.
I have worked on projects from a wide range of creative disciplines (dance, music, design, fine arts, architecture, and built environment). These experiences have provided me an awareness of, and deep appreciation for, the common intention I believe underpins arts and culture; to share and to connect with each other as people.
I am a woman who brings people together and gets things done! And I love a good laugh ;)
The active and diverse arts’ offering was a huge part of what attracted me to relocate to Hawke’s Bay. I am thrilled to be involved in an organisation like Ngā Toi Hawkes Bay whose vision is to connect the many moving parts of the arts community here, and help share their voices at local and national level.
Arts and culture is the fabric of society, weaving us together through creativity, collaboration, invention, and respect. There is a wealth of existing knowledge and energy in this beautiful region, and I see huge potential for us to come together and foster ways to support the arts, as an integral part of any healthy society."
